1. Adjust the brightness of your screen and keep the screen timeout short.



Use the automatic brightness of your phone to maintain optimal brightness. Lower the brightness manually to save battery power. Also, adjusting your phone's screen timeout as short as possible will significantly increase battery life, as the screen consumes the most battery.

2. Turn off Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS when not in use
Activating these services all the time will drain your battery faster because they are always looking for possible connections, networks, etc., when they are not connected. So disable these features when you don't need them. Turn of mobile data when you don't need internet also don't use hotspot always.

3. Do not use vibrate mode

Vibration mode is one of the worst settings for your phone's battery life. When you use vibration instead of the normal ringing, it depletes the battery sooner, since the vibration motor in your phone consumes more battery than the normal ringing.

4. Turn off push-notification and data–fetching
- Although push notifications provide us with information instantly as it happens. Its constant data verification drains your battery faster. Therefore, adjusting these notification settings for each application will increase the battery life of your phone.

5. For AMOLED phone screen, use dark colored wallpaper. And don't use live wallpapers

If you own an AMOLED phone (most Samsung), use a dark colored wallpaper to reduce battery usage. AMOLED displays only illuminated colored pixels. Blacks are not enlightened. So darker pixels mean less energy is needed to light up the screen. Don't use live wallpapers.

6. Use ‘Lite’ or ‘Go’ versions of apps
Using the "Lite" or "Go" app versions is a great option if you have a low-battery phone. Lite applications also need very little storage space to install and work even in weak network areas. Therefore, if you want to use less of your phone's battery, consider using the "Lite" or "Go" version of the applications.
7. Turn off vibrate and haptic feedback
- Turn off those small vibrations when you type and other notification which comes with vibration to reduce the unnecessary battery uses.
8. Remove unnecessary widgets
- Often your phone’s Home screen is flooded with Weather, News, social media widgets to give you real-time updates. But, these are battery drainers because they are often vibrantly colored and always synching. So, keep only those widgets which are really needed.
9. Turn off ‘automatic sync’


If you don’t really need to stay updated with your mail up-to-the-minute. You can turn off this feature. Instead, sync manually or reduce ‘auto sync’ interval after very few hours. This will give a boost to your overall battery life.
10. Turn on Flight mode when you’re in poor or no signal area and also at night
 If you’re in a no-signal or poor-signal area, your phone will keep looking for a signal all the time even though there is no signal at all. This will drain your battery faster. So, turn on the Airplane or Flight mode to reduce battery consumption. Try to turn on fligh mode in night time when you sleep.
11. Stop Over and Under Charging
 Keeping your phone’s battery between 30 to 80% is best for your battery. If you let the battery drop very low and then charge again to full, this will shorten the life span of your battery life. Also, do not overcharge your phone if it is already full to avoid overheating. Don't change always.
12. Use Battery Saver of your phone to save battery
Use the ‘Battery Saver’ option of your phone to reduce apps’ background activity, stop sync, and minimize system animations.
Lastly, do not expose your phone to extreme heat like the inside of a hot car as heat is the biggest enemy for all kinds of batteries. 

13. Make your location services more battery-friendly too!

Turning off location services isn't just a fantastic way to save on your battery, it saves on your data plan too! Go into your settings and you will find "location" under the "personal" heading - tap on it. At the top of the next page it you will see "mode" in this menu you will be able to set the options for how your smartphone determines your locations.
14. Turn off Google hotwords
Stop your phone from always listening. Google's "Ok Google" voice searching is a fantastic and often very functional feature. The problem is that it can play havoc with your battery. Go into "Google settings" from your app drawer and tap the "voice" heading. On the next page, select '"Ok Google' detection". In this menu, the best option for battery life would be to untick all boxed, but if you are a fan of "Ok Google", tick only the "From Google Search app" box to ensure your device is only primed while in the Google app.
