1. Send your location to a contact
WhatsApp allows you to send photos and videos to contacts, as well as share a contact or document but you can also send your location. This is very handy if you're meeting a friend somewhere, especially if you opt for Share Live Location, which allows your contact to see your Live Location for the duration you choose so they can track you. Duration times are set at 15 minutes, 1 hour or 8 hours.
iOS: Chat > Specific chat > Tap on "+" to the left of the message box > Location > Share Live Location > Select time frame.
Android: Chat > Specific chat > Tap on the paperclip to the right of the message box > Location > Share Live Location > Select time frame.
2. Reply to a group message privately
It's possible to reply to a group message privately in your one-to-one chat, without having to find the one-to-one chat you have with that particular person.
iOS: Press and hold a message in a group chat > Select More > Reply Privately. The message will appear in your one-to-one chat with the text box below, as it does if you reply to a specific message like above.
Android: Press and hold a message in a group chat > Select the three buttons in the top right corner > Reply Privately. The message will appear in your one-to-one chat with the text box below, as it does if you reply to a specific message like above.
3. Turn words bold, italic or strikethrough
Sometimes certain words need more emphasis and shouty caps just don't cut it. Don't worry, WhatsApp allows you to make whichever words or phrases you want bold, italic, or strikethrough them altogether.
iOS & Android: Add an asterisk either side of the word or phrase for *bold*. Add an underscore either side of the word or phrase for _italic_. Add a tildes to either side of the word or phase for ~strikethrough~.
4.Archive your chats
Archive Chat allows you to hide a conversation from your Chats screen. It does not delete the chat - it just allows you to remove it from your main chat screen without losing it, helping you organise your conversations.
You can archive groups or individual chats, and they will disappear until you pull down from the top of the Chats display and tap the Archived Chats tab. You can also archive all chats.
iOS: Chats > Specific chat > Swipe right to left > Archive / Settings > Chats > Archive All Chats.
Android: Chats > Long press on chat > Press the archive folder at top right of the screen
5. Sending a group message without making a group chat
The message will be delivered to every receiver you have chosen. Plus, all the necessary contacts will get the message in the usual way. Their answers will be seen only by you and not the other contacts on the list.
iOS & Android: go to Chats > Menu > New broadcast. Press "+" or enter the names of receivers.
6.Bubble messages
It's always quite nice to have small bubbles in the corner of your screen, showing that you have a new message in WhatsApp and who the sender is. All you need to do to turn this option on is to download the "WhatsBubbles" (app click here to download ). Synchronize it with your WhatsApp, and turn the bubble notification mode on. Voila! Catch the nice bubble messages on your screen!
7. Find out who is charting more
It’s all about how much data you’ve shared. WhatsApp has that info - and you can use it to make your own ranked list of your favourite friends. No, there's nothing weird about that at all. What's more, if you click through you can mass delete stuff that’s taking up too much space.
iOS & android : Head to Settings > Data and Storage Usage > Storage Usage and you’ll see a list of your most important groups and contacts ranked according to the data you’ve expended on them. Ah, the romance of modern living.
8. Read Whatsapp Messages without the sender finding it out
- Turn on the flight mode on your phone.
- Read the whatsapp message
- Now, turn on the flight mode again.
- No, blue ticks will appear and the sender will not know that you have read his/her whatsapp message.
9. Now, no more typing needed to send whatsapp messages
- Once you tap on the message box, the mic icon appears on the keyboard
- Just click on that mic icon and just talk your message.
- It will be automatically get typed as you speak.
10. How to see delete message
- Download and install WhatsRemoved+ from Google Play. Click here to download
- Once downloaded, open the app and finish setting it up by granting access to all the permissions the app asks for.
- After granting the permissions, go back the app and now you'll be asked to select the app/ apps of which you want to save the notifications and detect changes. From the list below, select WhatsApp and tap Next.
- On the next screen tap Yes, Save Files followed by tapping Allow. This will finish setting up the app and it will be ready for use.
- From then on every notification that you receive on WhatsApp, including the deleted messages will be present on WhatsRemoved+ app. All you need to do is to open the app and from the top bar select WhatsApp.
11. Stop everyone from Knowing you read their message by default
- Once you tap on the message box, the mic icon appears on the keyboard
- Just click on that mic icon and just talk your message.
- It will be automatically get typed as you speak.
12. Mark any message on whatsapp as starred and find it later
- Just Long press any message and mark it as starred.
- Now, you can find it anytime easily from main whatsapp windows. Just Click on Three vertical dots on main window, and click on starred messages.
13. Recover your deleted messages on Whatsapp
- Connect your mobile with your pc via USB cable.
- Go to folder named whatsapp/Databases
- Two files are there named msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt and msgstore.db.crypt
- msgstore-yyyy..dd..db.crypt file contains all the messages sent or recieved in last 7 days.
- Open it with notepad or wordpad to view and read messages.
14. Send all your conversation to your email
Most people wanted to view media and chats on their computer, but they are unaware of a shortcut that can send all the chat history and images, video to your inbox with one single click.
- Just go to whatsapp and press any contact for more than few seconds.
- A pop up menu will appear
- Click on email conversation. Send your conversation via gmail or any other email.
15. Hide your Profile pic from Others
Most of people don’t know and don’t care for this useful settings. Impersonators or spammers can download our pics and use it for illegal purpose. We should use this whatsapp feature to hide profile pic from public view. Follow the screenshots below.
First click on 3 vertical dots on home screen of whatsapp. Then Go to settings > Account > Privacy > Profile photo and Choose my contacts. This is really important for security purpose.
